Several years ago, a leading security lighting manufacturer approached Alcomex with a challenging question: could Alcomex help design an improved solution for security lighting? The manufacturer wanted to market a product that was not only reliable in lighting, but also allowed for disassembly without damage to the ceiling panel. In addition, the lighting panel had to be able to be easily reassembled with the same springs after disassembly.
The challenge lies in the technical complexity of the design: the solution had to be both strong and flexible. After receiving the initial designs, however, it became clear that they did not meet the requirements. The elements in which the springs were mounted were not optimal and required modifications to meet the desired characteristics. Thanks to the technical knowledge and experience of Alcomex, our team proposed several design modifications to solve these problems.
During initial sample production, Alcomex delivered a product of the expected quality. During a crucial test, where the LED panel was mounted in the ceiling tile and loaded with 1 kg, the design withstood the challenge without problems. After 30 minutes, the panel’s deflection did not exceed 2 mm – a result that exceeded even the highest expectations. Moreover, the panel could be removed and installed multiple times without causing damage to the ceiling.
Alcomex’s professional approach and technical expertise provided the confidence to enter into a long-term partnership. Through this successful test phase, Alcomex eventually became the main supplier of various lighting solutions for this client. Since then, this collaboration has grown into a solid partnership, with Alcomex now providing a wide range of lighting products that meet the client’s requirements.
