Prototypes are manufactured on the basis of the first concept and, if necessary they are tested at Alcomex internally to assess whether the lifespan and the calculated forces correspond with what is required in the system.
For this purpose, Alcomex has modern machine-parks at different production locations across Europe, which makes the manufacturing of small production runs economically feasible. Also there are several production options to manufacture leaf springs without cast/moulds, if necessary, in which case laser cutting is a frequently used technique. If the series is of considerable size, during the prototyping the possibilities regarding semi or fully automated production are already being assessed.
In the early stage it is important to have information about the feasibility of a design. For this purpose, Alcomex has created specific production possibilities for prototyping. In case of complex projects, Alcomex will form project teams that represent all the required disciplines.
